To an ice-cold solution of 2c (291 mg, 1.78 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (20 mL) was added a 1.0 M BBr3 solution in CH2Cl2 (3.6 mL, 3.6 mmol). The reaction was carefully quenched by addition of water and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc.
