A mixture of (R)-N-(2,3-epoxypropyl)-phthalimide (1.02 g, 5.0 mmol), substituted indole (5.0 mmol), p-xylene (5 mL) and NaH (80 mg of 60% in mineral oil) was stirred under N2 at 120 C. for 8 h. After cooling to 80 C. EtOH (10 mL) and anhydrous hydrazine (1 mL) were added, the mixture was heated at 80 C. for 2 h. Then the reaction mixture was cooled to RT, diluted with EtOAc (100 mL), washed with 0.5N NaOH (2×50 mL), brine (50 mL). Organic phase was dried over Na2SO4, evaporated.
