The residue was subjected to a large silica gel filter with methanol as eluent resulting in a brown solid (2.5 g, 54% yield). 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6) delta 7.90 (dd, J=8.7, 2.4 Hz, 1H), 7.83 (s, 1H), 7.26 (s, 1H), 6.44 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H), 3.66 (t, J=9.0 Hz, 2H), 3.04 (t, J=9.0 Hz, 2H).
