To a stirred solution of 31 (0.300 g, 0.852 mmol) in THF (10 mL) was added isopropylmagnesium chloride (0.46 mL, 2M solution in THF, 0.920 mmol) at room temperature. The resulting solution was warmed to room temperature, quenched with brine (20 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (3 x 50 mL). The combined organics were dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated to give 33 which was used without purification in the next step
